Fixed-term Lectureship in German
Applications are invited for a Fixed-term Lectureship in German at Worcester College tenable for one year from 1 October 2017. The lecturer will be employed by Worcester College, but will teach German students from Worcester College and Lady Margaret Hall. He or she will be required to teach German language classes as well as a wide range of topics from the modern period, including if possible German film, for up to 6 hours per week during term for the two colleges. The lecturer will also be expected to assist with the administration of German studies at Worcester College and Lady Margaret Hall, including participation in the admissions process and undertaking the pastoral care of students.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Arts single or joint honours degree in German and be close to completing, or have completed, a doctoral degree in German.
Stipend will be in the range £13,026 to £14,651 p.a., according to qualifications and experience. The lecturer will be entitled to Senior Common Room membership, with 2 free dinners at the Common Table in weeks 0 to 9 in term and 3 free lunches in weeks 0 to 9 in term and during the admissions period when the college’s kitchens are open.
